MR and Intracranial Diseases

Abstract
Since the introduction of CT in the medical field, there has been tremendous development in the diagnosis of various diseases involving central nervous system. In spite of such a development, there are many problems and difficulties which have not been solved with CT.
Hopefully, recently developed and introduced MR has made it possible to solve such problems and can be used as an important diagnostic aid to CT.
Though MR still has many problems and the images are not so familiar to us as CT, they will soon be overcome in the near future.
The author reviewed briefly the basic principles of MR and clinical interpretation of MR images in the common intracranial diseases and discussed its advantages and disadvantages over CT.
